The Keys to Ending Fear, Worry and Anxiety

The Nature of Fear

Fear is probably the most resisted feeling there is. In our society it is shameful to admit you are afraid. Fear is one of the most powerful tools of control. Most higher animals have the capacity to feel fear, and it is a natural response to a perceived threat. Fear, when experienced real time, is simply a messenger letting you know that you need to react to danger or take action of some sort. When you have not acknowledged your fear and have shoved it down and disregarded it, it can build to the rupture point. If you have spent significant time in an unsafe environment, you have become accustomed to feeling constant fear. If you have created a significant false self, your child has a deep fear that you will never get to be yourself.

Fear comes in varying degrees, from slight worry to full-blown panic. To the degree that you have abandoned yourself, you struggle with fear in your life. Every time that you weren't able to protect yourself from harm or stick up for yourself, fear grew. Fear begets fear: your begin projecting fear into the future because it was your experience in the past.
